I'm just making the comparison again, as I write this. I'm four tracks into it. The original sounds much better than the remaster CD, which sounds horribly in your face, bloated, compressed and digital in comparison. Whereas, even though the original greatest hits album didn't sound as good as the other orignals, it's still better. Now with the CD remasters sounding the same as the vinyl, I hold no hope of this upcoming version of greatest hits sounding to the CD remaster.

I really have high hopes in this reissue of Greatest Hits, since it's made the way it should have been done from the beginning aside from reducing the amount of music included on one single LP. Getting "Elvis As Recorded At Madison Square Garden" as a two-LP set after years of wishing it to happen was an extremely pleasant experience to me, and I hope this one will make me very happy as well.
