The HiFi labels were sold by to the Everest label best known for Gloria Lynne's catalog and a raft of grocery-store budget albums , and today remain part of "the Everest Group. HiFi was into stereo fairly early, and put out several stereo singles in on both the HiFi and the Orbit labels. Stereo on all albums is designated by an S before the initial prefix, for example R is monaural, SR is stereo. The first HiFi label far left was silver with black print.
The second label was slightly different for mono far left and stereo near left versions. Mono labels had the side designation in a large red number running down through the center hole between the two columns denoting songs and publishing information for that side of the LP.
Stereo issues had the word "STEREO" in block letters rotated 90 degrees replacing the large number designating the side. The side designation on stereo issues was in small letters at the bottom of the label.
The second label had a counterpart for HiFijazz releases shown at far left. It was silver with black print, with "hifi jazz" four times around the black edge band of the label, with "hifi" in silver and "jazz" in red. The first label for the Life Series near left was red with black print.
